Taken in Seattle. Near King St. You can see the train station. I used a Canon T2i 550d a Olympus OM 35-105mm 3.5 lens. Exposure is 30 seconds. The ISO is 100.
I actuaLLy Like this photo just as it is..I feeL Like I couLd "step into it." I see the cLock toweR on the top Left and am Reminded that time can eitheR go fast oR sLow and theRe is a man on a bike on the Right who appeaRs to just be headed onto the path beside wheRe the Light is emanating fRom, and he is "enteRing the pictuRe." The lights give me an iLLusion of speed and a sense of hope, aLthough eveRything eLse is stiLL in pLace. the LeveL of the buiLdings don't botheR me, because if it went any higheR, I wouLd want staRs in the backgRound and that wouLd distRact me fRom the main event, which is happening on the stReet. I aLso Like how the sign says, "ahead," it soRt of symboLizes foR me that time is yet to come, the Light and the path that the man on the bike is enteRing symboLizes foR me what couLd be, and what path one chooses to take-he couLd eitheR go Left oR Right. And in the middLe of aLL this, theRe doesn't appeaR to be any tRaffic, which is a good sign that some goaLs aRe actuaLLy attainabLe.
I like this. This type of photo never gets old. The only thing I think I would have done differently would have been to angle up more to catch the tops of the buildings completely and eliminate a bit more of the street which would also give more dark on that edge to balance the brightness on the right side. Also perhaps pan left a bit more so that the building just at right edge disappeared entirely. Awesome shot though! The flares on the street lights is also a nice touch.
